Terms of use
Last updated 16 July 2026
By using LatticeScan you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
What the service does
LatticeScaninspects only information that is already public about a domain: certificates published to Certificate Transparency logs and the TLS handshake any web browser performs. It does not access private systems, use credentials, or attempt to breach anything. It is the same kind of observation a visitor's browser makes.
No warranty
The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. Grades and reports are for general information only. They are not a certification, a guarantee of security, or professional advice, and you should not rely on them as your only assessment. Cryptography and the systems around it change; a report reflects what we observed at the time of the scan.
The downloadable internal scanner
The internal scanner is free software provided under the MIT license; the full license text is included in the file itself. You may use, copy, modify, and redistribute it. It is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind, and to the fullest extent allowed by law its authors and LatticeScan are not liable for any claim or damage arising from it, from its use, or from decisions made based on its output. It runs entirely on your own systems; we receive nothing from it and have no way to see how it is used, so responsibility for how and where it is run rests with you.
Run it only against systems you own or are explicitly authorized to test. Scanning systems without authorization may be unlawful in your jurisdiction, and you are solely responsible for having that authorization.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, LatticeScan is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the service, the downloadable software, or their results.
Acceptable use
Do not use the service to disrupt it or others, to get around rate limits, or for any unlawful purpose. Do not use the service or the downloadable scanner to probe systems you are not authorized to test. We may rate-limit, refuse, or remove access at any time to keep the service running.
